Nunhead Cemetery House is a whole house retrofit, rear and loft extension of a Victorian terraced house in South East London.
The clients wanted to do it all over again after they sold their first project with Draper Studio.
They boldly wanted something different to their first project and we worked together to form a design that maximised the loft and ground floor extensions.

The barrel-vaulted roof design comes from the planning requirement to protect the neighbour’s amenity to daylight. Where the shoulders of the arch meet the boundary the height of the extension is at its lowest point, satisfying the council that the size of the extension would not cause harm. The vaulted design continues inside maximising the volume and space.
The roof of the loft pod is also curved to allow daylight into the side return.
